masa darjah satu, sangat2 influenced by the greatest local, legendary rock band, Search. Tu pun masa terpengaruh tengok citer Fenomena sbb all my uncles berlakon masa tu. jadik extra. so kat situ dah berjinak2 skit main drum angin. (air drum). So looking at me so enthusiast about music which is another medium of art. my mum enrolled me in a Gamelan Club by Petronita. Masa tu mak aku kerja Petronas and dorang ada buat club ni for Petronas employees punya children. Mula2 bosan, then after few weeks cam best gila. And then sebelah studio tradisional, ada modern studio. so masa break, slalu curik2 masuk and main drum. then kena marah. malu. nangis. and in 1996, my friend Khairil Sariman, came to me one day, and change the whole of my life since then. He came to me before tuition and said, "Adib, pakcik aku ada tinggal kaset kat rumah aku.. cuba kau try layan." then i ask "kaset apa?" he answered "Kaset Nirvana, Nevermind." Fuhh.. dulu slalu nampak senior conteng kat meja makmal takpun beg skolah dorang guna liquid paper je..dalam hati, band ni mesti ganas.. so try la dengar.. pergh!! layan la plakk!

so after few years main gamelan (until 1998, form 2) the club was disband pasal area kitorang practice tu nak buat LRT. so terpaksa la disband the whole club. then i was addicted to sounds.. maybe sbb dah lama sangat main gamelan, so dah macam ketagih nak ada activity yang sama or lebih kurang which is main muzik. i wanna go for a real deal. so here is my sorta timeline for my muzik inputs:

1988 - 1990 (zaman tgk tv, influenced by pakcik)

so back to the story, masa darjah 6, with close friends of mine, syamil, alan ishak and hasrul, we started to go jamming together. In 1998, we actively went jamming and sanggup berjalan from SS7 to SS2 semata2 nak jam kat The Jam Studio. sanggup curik duit raya adik and all, kitorang pegi jam hampir hari2.. apa lagi, jam nirvana and butterfingers je la sampai khatam. and masa ni, i come out with the name Spinning Dizzy, ala2 grunge gitu. And terlahirlah first ever demo tape yang self titled, Spinning Dizzy. Demo tape ni kitorang record lagu guna radio mini compo warna merah, alan punya, the vocals, kitorang overdub kat rumah kawan kitorang nama Badrul Hisham, guna HiFi canggih dia.. gila rare ah time nih..

Then, for quite some times, we slowly changed our pace to more harder and stronger music which is new metal. starting kalau tak silap, kitorang jam deftones dulu, then baru soulfy ditubuhkan sbb max cavalera chow dari sepultura. so lepas tu khatam la soulfly sampai lebam. and nama band masa ni Mute Disgorge. So my first real show is started with this band in a party. My friend's party named Ezlyn. She organized a party for #14 kot masa tu. zaman2 mIRC. hahaha.. I still remember, masa tu band kitorang dah mula dikenali ramai sbb main Soulfly cam takde masalah.. hahah.Tak lama lepas tu, Mute Disgorge macam slow gila sbb semua chow pegi sekolah teknik berasrama penuh.

Sebelum masuk skolah teknik lagi, i know a friend of mine named Adam from mIRC yang gila bmx and into bands and music.. and masa tu dia ada band called Kross Overdrive. after a while, their vocalist, Zayd, kluar dari band and they searching for vocalist. masa tu plak, aku slalu lepak rumah Adam jamming dua orang, and later that evening, main skateboard. masa dorang satu band nak jam kat rumah, dorang takde vocalist. and kebetulan aku ada situ, so dorang suh blasah nyanyi.. apa lagi.. aku blasah la.. hahaha.. so after that, they decided to take me as permanent vocalist la and we started to record Kross Overdrive first demo tape. Self titled jugak.. haha.. ni lagi rare record ni sebab our friend Adzwan, who is a damn geek, yang slalu duk rumah, tetiba nak challenge himself to record a band. so kitorang guna je apa yang ada kat rumah Adam tu to record. Using a HiFi, and few karaoke mics, DONE! hahaha

Since from then, slalu la jam with Kross Overdrive playing covers ranging from Incubus, Linkin Park, Snot, and Earth Crisis. Then, lepas habis SPM, both of my band Mute Disgorge dengan Kross Overdrive masuk this one Battle of the Band organized by Sekolah Menengah Damansara Jaya. Mute Disgorge played covers from Incubus siap dengan sampler pakai laptop (hahahahah) and Kross Overdrive playing covers from Snot and Earth Crisis. Tapi masa ni Kross Overdrive guna nama Sugar Free atas alasan nama Kross Overdrive cam budak2. Adoiyai! Letup gila time ni! hahah

Tak lama lepas tu, Mute Disgorge decided nak tukar music influence. kali ni nak lebih ganas skit. pegi hardcore and metal. So we started to listen to Poison TheWell and Killswitch Engage. Lepas buat beberapa lagu, we decided to produce an EP with 3 - 4 songs. Hadoii... recording ni pun rare ugak weh.. hahaha.. this time around, Adzwan wanted to record all the tracks using metronome. so nak sewa studio masa ni amat2 lah susah and masa ni takde contact pun. so we bring all the equipments (Alan Ishak punya sbb masa ni dia ada jam studio nama Mouse Studio, abg dia punya) pegi Nilai, one my friends house in the making, nama dia Ami. Pegi sana actually just to record my drums.. haha! That was my first experience recording drum tracks with metronome without any music guide. Just listen to the metronome and hafal lagu.. Crazy!! then all the other tracks were recorded at Adzwan's room. After few months, terhasillah self titled EP, Mute Disgoge. Owh yes, we decided to give it all for free..

habis je dengan Mute Disgorge, Kross Overdrive pun nak record jugak.. and at the same time, dorang pun dah tuka genre music, hardcore metal which is known later on by the name of Metalcore. So dorang suruh dengar Darkest Hour plak la sbb sementara aku kat politeknik tu, dorang dah jam. so jam la.. And few months after that, Fahmi said about changing the name of the band to A New Fall. We agreed. Cam catchy gila la zaman tu.. hahah so gunala nama tu sampai skarang..

ABOUT ME: MOHD ADIB AZFAR in general :)

well,  here it is. a fresh new start for the year 2011. hi there! my name is mohd adib azfar bin mohd anuar :)

hmm, where shud we start. i was born on the 7th of October 1984 at University Hospital. Late night i guess.. as i grow, my mum taught me so much about art, because we always spend the time together drawing. and i still remember she used to teach me how to write nicely too because she said, lelaki pun kena tulis cantik-cantik.. Sebab tu masa tadika aku slalu dapat A for colouring. drawing fail lagi la..

during my primary years in 1991, i always join drawing and colouring contest organized by the school, Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Kelana. because it is the best way to skip class after all those boring periods. and from there i think im an art person. but still in denial.. still nak jadi architect and work hard for my maths. xjadi jugak. Rasanya mmg nak kena ke arah seni jugak kot. So far im doing good in my studies walaupun takdela blaja pandai mana. Tapi sangat sweet sbb dapat 4A's for my UPSR. Thank to all the teachers and friends yang banyak membantu. Owh ye, masa ni dah gila dengar muzik, even masa tusyen pun, dengar walkman.. haha!

Then dapat masuk Sekolah Menengah Kelana Jaya in 1997.. Adoii.. masa ni skolah ni orang panggil sekolah rempit.. tak se'cool' skolah2 lain such as SMK Seaport, SM Bukit Bintang, SM Seapark, SMK Sri Aman. Tapi takpela.. chill saje.. Banyak experience and kawan2 yang aku jumpa masa skolah sini and ramai juga yang dah kawin and beranak pinak pun skarang.. haha! Dekat sini aku jumpa my first ever band mates, Spinning Dizzy @ Mute Disgorge. Dengan dorang ni, alhamdulillah hidup aku lebih exciting.

Sampai form 3, tahun 2000, aku rasa dah fed up dengan skolah biasa, nak rasa skoalh lain plak. nak experience yang berbeza. Maklumlah, remaja, rebel, nak jugak pegi skolah teknik berasrama. Terpengaruh dengan cerita budak hostel dalam Ujang pun ye jugak.. so apply punya apply, dapat la masuk Sekolah Teknik Muadzam Shah, Pahang. Mak aih.. hmm.. malas ulas banyak pasal kehidupan sekolah teknik. Just kat sini aku lagi banyak kenal kawan2 from other states la.. and kawan2 KL yang skolah sini pun ramai yang kool.. so yeah!

Abis skolah, my family ada sedikit masalah financial sbb masa tu economic downturn. So my parents decided to open a school canteen dekat taman tun dr ismail, kuala lumpur. There, that was my first job ever, Abang Jual Ayam. Hahah cheesy gila! but that's what i do.. pagi2 as early as 6 o'clock in the morning dah bangun and meniaga. Masa tu jugak bawak van takde lesen pegi beli barang untuk jual esoknya. My friend Afiq Zhafran and Shahfezee also took the opportunity to work there and sambil2 carik duit belanja for weekend.

Then I got the offer to further my studies in Politeknik Johor Bahru in Graphic Design. Mak aih.. Graphic Design pun first time dengar masa apply poli hari tu.. so takpela.. i give it a try! So masa poli ni i met loads of good, beautiful, crazy, funny, annoying friends in my life. i love living in JB so much. And I met this amazing lecturers, Pn Intan Abida and Cik Hamidah. Sampai skarang, they have made me a good designer.

Dah habis poli kerja plak dekat Subang, A&O Design Sollution. Hahah tempat kerja ni tak cam tempat design langsung. Internet pun takde. Bos garang. Tak suka sangat kerja sini, tapi banyak jugak benda blaja.
